National Children’s Dental Health Month

Posted on

What is the most chronic childhood disease effecting children 6-11 and adolescents 12-19?  Would you have guessed dental caries?

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month.  The American Dental Association takes this month to raise awareness about oral health care especially with children.  This year’s campaign theme “Sugar Wars”  depicts heroic cartoon children in a spaceship swatting “Sweet Tooth Invaders” with toothbrushes.

To encourage this message and support the families in our practice, Charlottesville Dental Health Partners will have fliers depicting this theme for children to color in our reception area.  In addition, any child who has a checkup appointment with their hygienist will receive for free a special children’s electric toothbrush during the month of February!

Let’s all join the war against childhood dental caries and encourage good dental habits with our children.

Keep Smiling!
